“The Jacksonville economy scored some extra points from the University of Notre Dame versus Navy college football game played at EverBank Field Saturday.
The JaxSports Council said in a prepared statement Thursday that more than 50,000 people attended the game. The Sports Council along with Visit Jacksonville estimated there was a $30 million local economic benefit.
Hotel occupancy rates in Jacksonville were reported to be at 90 percent for the Navy-Notre Dame weekend, a 30 percent jump over the same weekend in 2015, a news release stated.”
